Established over 40 years ago and based in Eye, Suffolk, C&K Meats is known for its passion for service and high-quality meat. C&K Meats cuts, prepares, packs and delivers award-winning quality pork products for distribution locally, nationally and internationally.
There is an opportunity to join our growing Technical Team as a Quality Systems Technologist. In this role, you will support the Technical Department in the management of customer and supplier data, including audits, approval documentation, specifications, and key quality assurance information management systems.
You will also manage the quality complaints process, which includes feeding back to site process teams, and will also support and take an active role in technical project work.
Main duties will include:
Completing relevant data analysis and reporting that analysis to the relevant departments
Investigating and responding to lower tier complaints and to communicate corrective actions, in conjunction with the QA team, to the relevant site team(s)
Completing customer SAQs and QASs
Assisting/supporting the department with second and third-party audits of the sites
Conducting internal audits, as assigned
Attending relevant meetings and recording/distributing minutes
Assisting the department in the maintenance of relevant QMS/HMS systems, where required
Conducting traces and mass balances, as assigned
Driving continued improvement at site
Undertaking and completing any reasonable requests from the Head of Technical
Our ideal candidate:
Effective planning and organisation skills, with the ability to prioritise
Positive and effective communication skills, both verbal and written
Able to work in an accurate/logical/methodical manner
Effective problem-solving and analytical skills
Continually challenges/drives standards
High standard of technical knowledge, including HACCP
Good working knowledge of UK/EU legislative requirements in food manufacturing
Good understanding of industry standards and customer codes of practice
Internal auditing experience essential
Excellent IT & Systems knowledge essential
Experience in food manufacturing desired
Working with and understanding BRC
